Delbrück received the many exhibits from the Paderborn School Museum, which for almost 20 years provided an insight into the history of education in the Paderborn region as well as the development of printing and writing over the centuries at the Paderborn site. The reason for the relocation was that the premises at Schöningh Verlag on Jühenplatz had to be vacated by December 31, 2017. At the suggestion of Günter Knoche from Delbrück, in close coordination with the Delbrück local history association and with great support from Dieter Rüthing, former principal of Delbrück grammar school and member of the "Paderborn School Museum" association, the collection of the Paderborn School Museum was transferred to Delbrück. After a 4-month construction period, a historical classroom from the Wilhelmine imperial era and many exhibits from this past can be seen on around 50 square meters on the upper floor of the Delbrück Heimathaus on the historic church square. During the construction period, more than a hundred-year-old school desks and other objects were set up, more than 50 boxes were unpacked, many rare objects were viewed and placed on shelves and in display cases, and display boards and pictures were hung up.
Guided tours for school classes and visitor groups (max. 15 people) at the Delbrück School Museum, Kirchplatz 10, 33129 Delbrück are now available by appointment. The guided tours are led by Dieter Rüthing, former principal of Städt.
