Gastronomy
The Café "Die Rentei" with its idyllic beer garden is open to day visitors at weekends and on public holidays.
Park with circular path
Visitors can relax from the hectic pace of everyday life in the extensive and beautifully landscaped park: the English Garden with its large pavilion, the landscaped garden with its old trees, the courtyard of honour with its modern water feature and the historic burial site of the von dem Bussche Münch family have been lovingly recreated based on old models. An enrichment for the entire region is also the approx. 2 km long circular hiking trail created in 2018 or the new boat landing stage on the Mittelland Canal, which passes just a few hundred meters away from the manor house. The White Fleet of Mindener Fahrgastschifffahrt offers regular day trips from May to September. The German Museum of Automata is also located in a half-timbered building directly on the castle grounds.
With numerous art and cultural events throughout the year, the traditional Christmas market or the opportunity to get married in the historic Wedding Room, the history of the castle, the former seat of the Westphalian noble families von dem Bussche-Münch, is continued with dignity.
