Mill

Operational history of the mill

In the beginning, the mill was operated by horse power until 1920. This was followed by another ten years in which the mill was operated by motor power. The mill was finally shut down in 1930.

Restoration and recommissioning

After extensive restoration, the mill was put back into operation in 1985. Since then, it has been considered the largest horse mill in Westphalia.

Architecture and special features

The exterior of the mill can be recognized by its characteristic octagonal half-timbered construction under a round thatched roof. Inside there is a traction device that allows the use of up to six horses. The mill's wooden comb wheel is impressively large and has a circumference of 32 meters.
