Petritor | War memorial

Monument
The Hellweg led through the Petritor gate into the city.
The war memorial at the beginning of the cemetery wall commemorates the men of the town who fell in the First World War. It was inaugurated in 1926. The metal plates with the names of the fallen were melted down during the Second World War.

As indicated by the two sandstone pillars on Westerbachstraße, the Petritor, another city gate, which took its name from the demolished Petrikirche church and through which the Hellweg led into the city, was located in the neighbourhood.
