The Turenbusch Nature Reserve is a wooded stream valley with scattered wet meadows, through which two near-natural streams flow.

The Turenbusch Nature Reserve covers an area of 29.9 ha and consists largely of near-natural forest communities, a few small spruce forests, and grasslands.

It has been legally designated in the Enger/Spenge Landscape Plan since 1992. A management and development plan is in place (from 1984).

The Turenbusch Nature Reserve was designated to ensure the long-term conservation and restoration of the stream system with its ecologically valuable and, in some cases, threatened habitats (near-natural deciduous forests of varying moisture levels, wet meadows and pastures, tall forb communities, reed beds, sedge marshes, flowing and standing waters) as a refuge for numerous animal and plant species from the intensively farmed surrounding area.
