Museum in der Kaiserpfalz
The focus is on Charlemagne's palace, which he had built in 777 above the Pader springs - the first and only palace in Saxony at the time. Archaeological finds such as wall paintings, glass vessels and numerous other discoveries provide a vivid picture of the appearance of this complex and its historical significance. Particularly impressive is the reconstructed Ottonian-Salian palace from the early 11th century with its chapels and the unique spring cellar, which tells of Paderborn's heyday at this time.
In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum regularly presents changing special exhibitions on various historical themes. Current information on the exhibitions and other extensive content about the museum can be found on the museum's website.
