The Klostermühle, first mentioned in 1258, is considered the oldest known mill site in Vlotho, located in the immediate vicinity of the Weser River. Thanks to the unique topography (a height difference of over 200 meters between the Krummen Mühle at Bonstapel and the Klostermühle on the Weser), it was possible to build the numerous water-powered mills in the first place.
