Filigree art made from scrap metal - that is Angelo Monitillo's trademark. His studio has been located in the heart of the historic old town since 2003.
The Deelentor gate of the house, which was built in 1624, has a unique shape. While there is an almost complete lack of figurative decoration in the carvings of the other Rietberg houses, here the portal is framed by half-figures. They are interpreted as Adam and Eve and thus also as fertility symbols. Among others, the mayor of the town and the count's bailiff lived in the building.Monitillo's works can be admired not only in his studio, but also in public places such as the Bibeldorf or in front of the Protestant church in Müntestraße. Angelo Monitillo has created the planets of our solar system in his very own way from scrap material in his planet trail. The exhibits are located between the parking lot at the Bibeldorf and the north entrance of the Garden Show Park. The walk along the individual stations takes you along idyllic paths along the River Ems, the historic town center and through the grounds of the Garden Show Park.Good to know
