The Jewish cemetery at Wertheraner Egge, which covers approximately 1,300 square meters, was established in 1895 and bears witness to the presence of the Jewish community in Werther. It also provides insight into burial rites according to the Jewish faith.
There are 22 gravestones on the plot. A memorial stone commemorates the members of the Jewish communities of Werther and Halle who died between 1933 and 1945. The city of Werther (Westphalia) added the cemetery to its list of historic monuments in 1995.
