Heidewaldstadion

Football pitch
The largest stadium in the Gütersloh district
The Heidewaldstadion is currently called Ohlendorf Stadion im Heidewald and is the largest stadium in the Gütersloh district. It can accommodate 8,400 spectators (including almost a thousand covered seats) and up to 10,500 spectators for major matches with the corresponding special permits. The stadium was opened in 1933, reopened in 1972 after two years of renovation and made suitable for the second division at the end of 1996/97 (floodlights, access routes, block divisions). Efforts are currently being made to enable third division soccer to be played in the stadium. The Ohlendorf Stadium is the home ground of FC Gütersloh. The fourth-division club usually plays its home games in the Regionalliga West here in front of an average of just under 2,000 spectators.
