Historic site
In 1719, the councillor Johann Helferich von Huss had the baroque aristocratic manor house built on a large plot of land. The coat of arms of the owner and his wife Catharina Hilmers can be seen in the gable above the main portal. In 1858, heirs sold the building to the "Wittekind" Masonic Lodge, which had already been founded in 1780.

Until its dissolution by the National Socialists, the lodge house was one of the town's main social meeting places. During renovation work in 1961, the building was completely gutted except for the unusually elaborate oak staircase. In the years 1969-92, the Minden public library was housed here.
