Gut Obernfelde im Mühlenkreis Minden-Lübbecke

Fortress/Castle
The Obernfelde estate is located on the northern slope of the Wiehengebirge and comprises several buildings that characterize the estate complex. In the center is the elongated manor house, while parallel to it a farm building and a converted horse stable as the southern end complete the complex.

The former watermill and the "Ministerhaus"
The former watermill is located at the edge of the park, while the "Ministerhaus" can be found to the east of the estate in a separate garden area. This building was built in 1824 in the Schinkel style as a retirement home.

The private park at Obernfelde Estate
The well-tended park at Obernfelde Estate is used exclusively for private purposes and characterizes the overall appearance of the estate with its landscaping and old planting.

History of Obernfelde Estate
The Obernfelde Estate was first mentioned around 1540 and has been owned by the von der Recke family since 1818. The estate park was transformed from a baroque park into an English landscape park in 1828. Special trees and shrubs as well as an arbour and a sundial characterize the overall picture.

Important buildings on the estate
The former orangery was converted into a residential building and is another important building on the Obernfelde estate.
