Monument
Princess Pauline was the most important personality of the Lippe royal family.

This witty woman was born in 1769 in Ballenstedt in the eastern Harz mountains, the residence of the Dukes of Anhalt-Bernburg.

In her time, Meinberg was the social figurehead for Lippe; a spa town, star, rose and the count's ballroom.

Pauline was often in Meinberg, where she conducted many foreign and domestic political negotiations.

When she came to Detmold in 1796, there was great poverty and she took on this task. Her social institutions were exemplary.

(Princess Pauline is located in the historic spa gardens in front of the INTI building.)
