For over 50 years, an active amateur theatre ensemble has been performing fairytale plays, other children's plays as well as plays, comedies and musicals for adults on the open-air stage. A covered grandstand with 990 seats enables open-air theatre in all weathers. State-of-the-art sound and lighting technology ensure optimum acoustics and make evening performances in particular an experience. A sufficient number of parking spaces are available for visitors, including for coaches. For many years, the Bökendorf open-air theatre has been one of the top theatres among the 78 amateur open-air theatres in the Association of German Open-Air Theatres (VDF).
