Fossiliengrund

Nature discovery trail
A special feature within the municipal area is the Fossiliengrund in Hiddentrup, which has been designated a natural monument. This is a trochite limestone wall (trochite: stalk of extinct sea lilies), which can be described as an outstanding and interesting geological outcrop. The surrounding area with the groups of bushes and the striking oak tree forms a still intact ecosystem.
