Ev.-ref. Kirche Barntrup

Church
The Protestant parish church, formerly probably St. Maria, was founded in 1317. The choir and the upper part of the tower, which was later renovated, were probably built at this time. The vault of the nave was destroyed in a fire in 1636 when the tower partially collapsed. The nave was extensively renovated in 1638 and has since been covered by a wooden barrel vault. The pulpit and the galleries were created in the second half of the 17th century.
