Historic site
The house, which dates back to a conversion in 1805, is one of the few surviving examples of bourgeois classicism in Minden. The associated outbuildings housed the Wilhelm Sültemeyer steam sawmill and cigar box factory from the second half of the 19th century.

It was a supplier for the cigar industry that dominated Minden in the 19th century. A former packing house (Bartlingshof 9) was initially converted into a factory and a large production building was added in 1899. In 1930, the factory moved to Artilleriestraße. Sültemeyer's property is an example of a manufacturing business that developed within the city walls during the fortress period (until 1873).
