The chapel is probably the best-known small chapel in Hövelhof and is located directly on the Ems cycle path.

The small chapel was built in 1896 by the then farm owner halfway to the church on the "Kirchweg" of the Vollmeierhof Bredemeier. Inside is a copy of a Madonna from 1715 on loan from the farm owner; the original is still owned by the family today. The chapel is the destination of the annual Ascension Day procession.
