Backhaus Heddinghausen

historical building

The old bakehouse, with the oven still intact and in use today, was built in the neighboring village in 1872 and rebuilt at its current location in 1980.

An old cannon stove radiates cozy warmth during the regular grinding and baking seminars.

The outbuilding was built in the same year and a toilet facility was added in 1998. In 1994, a half-timbered house from the neighboring settlement 'Glösinghausen' dating back to 1837 was added to the complex. It is used for entertaining guests, participants in the milling and baking seminars and as a practice room for the Heddinghauser Kern dance group. At the same time, a barbecue stand was erected in front of the house. The kitchen is located in the central building. One of the wedding rooms of the Preußisch Oldendorf registry office is also located in these rooms.

In 1987, the belfry was erected in the entrance area. Forged in the Weiß bell foundry in Ahrenshoop in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the bell calls the neighbors to celebrate the joyous event by clanging, tinkling and ringing when a "Kernian" is born.
