The old artillery barracks to the east of the cathedral had been acquired by the city from the military treasury and demolished in 1892 to create a breakthrough for the new Vinckestraße. The Field Artillery Regiment No. 22 was able to move into the building, which was completed in 1897. The barracks complex included the team house as the main building, the family house and various farm buildings. Extensions and conversions were carried out until 1914. After the Second World War, British troops were housed here and commercial enterprises moved in. Since 1961, the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, Minden campus, has been using some of the buildings.
