Altenauquelle

pond
The Altenau rises in a spring pond in the middle of the village of Blankenrode in the southern Eggegebirge mountains.
The source of the river lies at an altitude of 364 m. Right next to the spring pond is a wooden refuge with lots of information about the region. A cozy seating area right by the water also invites you to linger.

In hot summer months, the Altenau can periodically fall dry.
