- Destination: Parking spaces between the secondary school and the sports stadium on Goethestrasse in Löhne-Melbergen.
The nature tour through the east of Löhne starts in Melbergen. Renaturalized sections of the Mittelbach stream show that a body of water can also flow naturally in a residential area. The route continues along the Werre to Bad Oeynhausen - sights such as the weir, graduation tower, spa gardens and bathhouses line the route. Passing the open-air museum of rural cultural monuments, the route leads through stream valleys up to the Wallburg castle and the Rürupsmühle mill. Here you can experience life as it was hundreds of years ago. Along the streams of Gohfeld Switzerland, you can explore a wide variety of habitats from your bike. The little wren grumbles loudly at the passing cyclists. Past an old oak tree next to the Aqua Magica site, the route leads via the Kemena Mill Museum back to the starting point.
Further information on the route and the waypoints can be found on the cycle leisure website of the district of Herford: www.fahr-im-kreis.de. An audioguide and a brochure are also available to download there.
