The Vital Route takes you on a relaxing 10.9 km route through the healing landscape around Bad Lippspringe. Discover the healing forest with its historic tree population, enjoy the fresh air on the misty meadow in Arminius Park (spring & summer) and experience the beneficial effects of the
Arminius and Liborius springs. Along the way, the Lippe spring or the Kneipp basin provide a refreshing break. This route is ideal for strengthening body and soul and enjoying the natural tranquillity of Bad Lippspring.
You can discover these highlights along the route:

Healing forest:

The Bad Lippspringe healing forest is a unique natural paradise that offers recreation and relaxation in the middle of a species-rich forest on an area of around 200 hectares. The special climate and peaceful atmosphere make the forest an ideal oasis for nature lovers and those seeking relaxation.
With a network of 12 kilometers of hiking trails as well as other bike tours, the healing forest invites you to actively relax and discover. Mindfulness walks and healing climate hikes also offer the opportunity to bring body and mind into harmony and enjoy the natural surroundings to the full.
The Bad Lippspringe healing forest - the perfect place for a break in nature to recharge your batteries and leave everyday life behind.

Lippe spring & Arminius spring:

Lippe spring:

In the immediate vicinity of the castle ruins, the Lippe "jumps", takes its course and flows into the Rhine 255 kilometers further on near Wesel. The deep blue spring pond is popularly known as "Odinsauge". Legend has it that the almighty Germanic father of the gods "Odin" tore out his eye and threw it into the dry landscape of the Senneland to bless it with moisture and flourishing life. There is a platform at the castle from which you can look directly into the spring trough of the Lippe.

Arminius spring:

The oldest healing spring is the Arminius Spring, which was discovered near the castle ruins in 1832. It is the source of the spa's 175-year history of tradition. Presumably on a cold day in 1912, construction workers discovered slightly steaming water south of the Arminius Spring. Investigations revealed that the healing spring had sought a new underground outlet at this point. This is why today we speak of the old and the new Arminius Spring.

Misty meadow in Arminius Park:

The fog meadow in Arminius Park is not just a visual experience. Mighty imposing tubes rise up into the air. The fine, artificially created mist rises from them, shrouding the old trees and demonstrating to visitors how pollen counts are reduced in damp weather.

The fog meadow is only in operation during the summer months in the following rhythm:
5 minutes fog, 10 minutes break.

Liborius drinking hall:

Construction of the neo-Gothic-style Liborius drinking hall began in 1904. The Liborius healing spring, which has been in use since 1902, bubbles in it.
The Liborius water, which has a softer taste than the Arminius water, is particularly popular with the people of Bad Lippspringen and their guests.
Initially privately owned, the town has owned the building and the water rights since 1987. Repeatedly renovated, the hall now shines in "white" splendor. In 2003, the local heritage association donated an outdoor tap in the immediate vicinity of the Trinkhalle, which has been very popular every day ever since. In the outdoor area, guests and locals can also enjoy a refreshing dip in the treading pool and arm plunge pool in summer.
