Directions
The tour starts at Arminiuspark, directly opposite the Bad Lippspringe tourist information office. Cross "Lange Straße" and walk straight ahead in the direction of Arminiuspark.
The impressive starting point of the "Planet Trail" is the "Sun" with a diameter of 1.40 m, in front of the Prinzenpalais in Arminiuspark.
"Mercury" and "Venus" also adorn the Arminiuspark at a distance of 58 m and 108 m, while the "Earth" at a distance of 150 m from the sun already marks the park boundary.
"Mars" (228 m) stands in the "Marktstraße" at the Jordan Bridge, at the beginning of the pedestrian zone. The path to "Jupiter", which is 778 m away, leads via "Arminiusstraße" to just before Kaiser-Karls-Park.
Crossing the park, you pass a sundial and enter the Kurwald forest. The "Fischerhüttenweg" takes you to the Mersmannteichen ponds, where "Saturn" (1,427 m) presents its characteristic ring.
If you don't want to walk through the park, turn left at the open-air chess facility and follow the signs for Planetenweg around Kaiser-Karls-Park.
Past the picturesque Fischerhütte (restaurant), you will reach the Strotheweg. Here, the trail runs parallel to the water either above or below and then leaves the little river again in the direction of the riding hall, near which "Uranus" (2,870 m) resides.
Your hike takes you along the "Lönsweg" through partly dense forest to the Schützenplatzschneise. Pass the Schützenplatz and cross "Detmolder Straße", keep right and turn left into "Adolph-Kolping-Straße". At the traffic circle, continue along the road "Zum See". On the left, you will come to "Neptun" (4,496 m) in a fantastic location on the shore of the Dedinger-Heide lake with a fascinating view of the Eggegebirge mountains.
The route continues along the Thune, a small stream that leads to "Pluto" (5,946 m), where the romantic Jordan spring opens up. After around 300 m, you return to Arminius Park, the starting point of the "Hike through the dimensions of the planetary system".
