Directions
We start at the ADFC station in Bad Meinberg, follow "Parkstraße" straight ahead through the park, turn left into "Pyrmonter Straße" and keep straight ahead to the exit of Bad Meinberg. Our route takes us on the cycle path along the B 239 - Höxter - to the junction of the B 239 + B 1. At the first forest path junction, we pass under the B 239 and follow the forest path with the signposting "Entenkrug - Norderteich" through the Beller Holz. The asphalt path now leads us slightly downhill through the forest, at the first crossroads we keep left, the main path still leads us downhill to the edge of the forest - the Entenkrug inn becomes visible -, here we turn right onto the natural path at the edge of the forest, follow the path to the marked left-hand bend, here we follow the main path to the left to the next crossroads. Turn left onto the asphalt path to reach the weir Norderteich and follow the small road "Norderteichweg" to the right until you reach the first houses in Billerbeck. The NRW cycle signs "Schieder / Fürsten-Radroute" guide us straight ahead, at the district road "Billerbecker Straße" to the left up the hill and between the houses to the right on an asphalted farm track "Reihweg" through the wide fields, crossing a country road straight ahead in the direction of "Wöbbel". In the following lowland, we turn right from the asphalt path onto the gravel farm track, which leads us in a right-left-left-right bend under the B 252 expressway to the first houses of Wöbbel. We cross the country road straight ahead into "Friedenstal Straße", later in the village of "Am Kirchborn" - Schloßanlage Wöbbel - and join the "Hauptstraße" at the village church. Follow the roadside cycle path on the right with NRW signs for "Schieder" until you reach the hamlet of Nessenberg, where you cross the busy road and continue along the cycle path on the opposite side in the direction of "Schieder".
After the bridge over the stream, we come across the NRW cycle path signposting "BahnRadRoute Hellweg - Weser", this signposting leads us to the outskirts of Bad Pyrmont and then on through the Emmertal valley to Hameln!
On "Detmolder Straße", the roadside cycle path leads across the Emmer, straight ahead into the village of Schieder, past the petrol station and straight ahead to Baroque Schieder Castle - km 18
Before the castle, cycle down the main axis of the castle and spa gardens with the cycle path signposted "Glashütte" SchiederSee Due to the construction work, there may be detours! We keep straight ahead through the large park gate onto "Bahnhofstraße", cross the Emmer, later the railroad tracks, turn right at the large industrial complex into "Hainbergstraße", follow this out to the edge of the forest and then right into the small road "Braunenkampsweg" to Glashütte. In the village, we keep right on the "Waldweg", leave the district road behind the last houses (pedestrian island) to the left into the forest path "Emmerweg" with the NRW cycle path signposting "Lügde / R53", which first leads parallel to the road down to a small stream, then to the right until the railroad tracks can be seen on the right. The nature trail crosses another small forest stream, now leads parallel to the tracks uphill, above the tracks the wide path becomes abruptly narrower! ATTENTION: We now cycle steeply straight ahead for approx. 100 m downhill, sharp left turn and then on a poor forest path (hiking trail) approx. 250 m steeply (approx. 15%) up the slope and come to a wide natural forest road at the top. Here we keep right, cycle along the Emmer forest slope downhill into the fields and meadows of the "Uhlsental", on the asphalt path to the right and 50 m further on to the left into the "Silberbrink". The asphalted farm track leads us up a short steep incline (approx. 10%) to a small hill, on this to the right along the Fuchsholz road downhill through a small forest into the valley floor of the Emmer to the "Gasthof - Cafe Ponterosa" - Tel. 05281-78111 - and continue to the outskirts of Lügde. We turn right onto "Eschenbrucher Straße", over the Emmerbrücke bridge to the traffic circle of the bypass (3rd exit tunnel closed to cyclists). The cycle signs lead us from the Emmerbrücke bridge via the traffic circle 2nd exit straight ahead "Mittlere Straße" into the historic center of Lügde , we turn right into "Vordere Straße", cycle to the "Marktplatz" with the town hall -- km 26 --
We follow "Vordere Straße" straight ahead to the end, crossing another traffic circle straight ahead into "Pyrmonter Straße", following it past an industrial plant to a pedestrian crossing. Here we turn left into "Brunnenstraße", this small road leads us under the bypass road and keeping left into the "Emmerweg" out of Lügde into the meadows and floodplains of the Emmer. We have reached Lower Saxony when we cross the Emmer on the "Hoperbrückenweg". In the town, we keep right on "Emmerstraße" to the junction with "Schillerstraße", turn right, approx. 30 m on the country road to left into "Schloßstraße" with the spa district and at the end turn left onto the main avenue of the spa town. The Bahnhofstraße leads directly to the train station "Bad Pyrmont", from here there is the possibility "Return journey by train to Steinheim / Westfalen" - Hourly local train incl. bicycle transport in regular service!
We come to "Solbadstraße", right across the river, left at the country road junction "Lügder Straße", before the railroad bridge left into "Dringenauer Straße", through the industrial and commercial area following the road straight ahead over the Emmer and under the railroad tracks "In der Marsch" to the village of Thal. Cross the Emmer "Neue Straße" briefly up to the country road "Hauptstraße", left following the course of the road on the accompanying cycle path to the village of Welsede, there straight ahead "Tannenweg" and behind the houses as an asphalted farm track through the meadows of the Emmerauen. Follow the cycle path signs past the village of Amelgatzen until the field path meets the railroad tracks again. We cross the following small stream via a ford, push the bike up the subsequent 20 m climb and cycle along the narrow nature trail alongside the railroad tracks. The signs direct us to the left under the tracks to the Emmer and then up the opposite slope to the village of "Hämelschenburg". Here we meet the country road "Schloßstraße" again, follow it to the right to the castle (the country road cuts through the castle grounds, with the imposing building on the left and the estate with restaurants and bicycle parking on the right). - km 43 -

The manor has been owned by the v. Klencke family without interruption for 560 years. It consists of a castle, the historic park with a burial pyramid, the ruins of the Hühnenschloss castle, the church and an agricultural and forestry business, which includes farm buildings and a recently modernized hydroelectric power plant. The church, which was transferred to the parish of Hämelschenburg in 1652, is one of the first churches in the world to be built for a Protestant congregation. While the land in Emmmertal is a nature reserve, the entire complex of Hämelschenburg Castle is a listed building. During a guided tour, you will visit the historic rooms from the reception hall to the vaulted cellar. The epochs, styles and personalities of many generations characterize the rooms of the castle, which are furnished with valuable furniture, paintings, fireplaces, stoves, porcelain, weapons and glass collections. The 550-year history of the manor comes to life in the guided tours.
The costly maintenance and cultural use of the entire estate was no longer secure in the long term because it could no longer be financed from the income from the farm alone. In 1993, the foundation was established, which today acts as the owner. For information, call 0 5155 - 951690 www.schloss-haemelschenburg.de

After passing through the industrial area we leave the "BahnRadRoute", now follow the "Weser-Radweg" into the historic city center of Hameln via "Ohsener Straße", left "Mühlenstraße", left "Münsterwall" and right "Papenstraße" / "Sudetenstraße". Hameln , district town of the Hameln-Pyrmont district with approx. 57,000 inhabitants / 14 districts and center of the Mittelweser region, is best known for the legend of the Pied Piper of Hameln, which tradition dates back to 1284.
In the year 802 or 812, Saxon Count Bernhard and his wife Christina built their own church on their estate in Hamelin. In 826, this property was transferred to the imperial abbey of Fulda, and in 851 a Benedictine monastery "Hamela" or "Hameloa" was founded at the conveniently located Weser crossing. Around 1200, the place is referred to as a town for the first time, making it one of the oldest towns in the Kingdom of Hanover.
The city tour is marked with the symbol of the "rat", allowing you to experience magnificent sandstone and half-timbered buildings from the 16th to 18th centuries. The feeling of walking in the footsteps of the Pied Piper, of the quiet charm of the small alleyways, of the charms of a shopping spree with historical flair, in short: of the atmosphere of a town that will enchant you.
