With the districts of Börninghausen (climatic health resort since 1992), Büscherheide and Einighausen, the Eggetal is rightly referred to as the "jewel of the Lübbecker Land". The quiet and idyllic villages are situated on the southern slope of the Egge and are almost completely surrounded by wooded hills. Experience the wonderful views of the Eggetal valley in all its diversity on the Eggetal panoramic circular trail.
There are plenty of benches and even a forest sofa (near the viewing tower) on the panoramic circular trail for small and large breaks.
The 29.5-metre-high observation tower on the crest of the Wiehengebirge offers a magnificent view. 125 steps lead up to the new viewing platform.

Directions
- The almost 13 km long route is marked with a black "E" on a yellow background and is easily recognizable. For the most part, it leads along the tree line around the only longitudinal valley in the Wiehengebirge. From the beautifully situated viewing tower, hikers can also enjoy impressive views of the North German Plain. The route is also ideal for inexperienced hikers.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
- A worthwhile detour slightly off the actual route is the restored Limberg castle ruins - first mentioned in a document in 1319 - with its beautiful nature reserve and forester's lodge.
