Cycling along the Mill Route to the coziest beer gardens and most beautiful places to stop for a break

Stage 1: Waterways and Storks: Bike tour along the Weser Cycle Path from Minden via Petershagen to Lahde Lake
Your first stop should be the Minden Ship Mill. Here, you can enjoy a hearty meal at the Ship Mill restaurant to fuel up for an active day in the Mühlenkreis region. (Open for groups outside regular hours by request).
From the Minden Ship Mill, follow the Weser Bike Path to Petershagen. The Zum Alten Fischerhaus beer garden is a great spot for a lunch break.
Passing Petershagen Castle, the route crosses the Weser toward Peterhagen-Lahde and from there continues along the Mill Route through Neuenknick and Seelenfeld. Shortly before Schlüsselburg, you’ll cross the Weser again.
At the Weserscheune in Peterhagen-Buchholz, hard-working cyclists can refuel with coffee and cake.
The day’s stage ends at the Hotel Zur Stemmer Post in Minden. Here, you can have dinner and spend the night.
