Schiffmühle Minden

The Minden Ship Mill is the reconstruction of a ship mill from the 18th century, as it was used for milling on the Weser in Minden until the 19th century.

The idea was born to mark Minden's 1,200th anniversary in 1998: the reconstruction of a ship mill from the 18th century, as it was used for milling on the Weser in Minden until the 19th century. Now the experience is fascinating when the cracking of the ship mill's wooden gears mixes with the sound of the water.
The Minden Ship Mill can be visited from April to October, Tuesdays to Sundays and on public holidays from 11 am to 6 pm on the Weser promenade south of the pedestrian bridge over the Weser.

With around 25,000 visitors during the approximately seven-month season, the Minden Ship Mill is one of the most visited museum facilities in the Minden-Lübbecke mill district.

Openings

During the season from April to October, the Schiffmühle is open Tuesdays to Sundays and on public holidays from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
