Schiffmühle Minden - Westphalian Mill Road No. 42

Mill
The Minden Ship Mill is a reconstruction of an 18th-century ship mill, which was used for milling on the Weser in Minden until the 19th century.

The idea was born on the occasion of Minden's 1,200th anniversary in 1998: the reconstruction of an 18th-century ship mill, as it was used for milling on the Weser in Minden until the 19th century. Now the experience is fascinating, as the cracking of the ship mill's wooden gears mingles with the sound of the water.
The Minden Ship Mill can be visited from April to October, Tuesdays to Sundays and on public holidays from 11 am to 6 pm on the Weser promenade south of the pedestrian bridge over the Weser. With around 25,000 visitors in the seven-month season, the Minden Ship Mill is one of the most visited museum facilities in the Minden-Lübbecke mill district.
