Hiking around Wüsten - an experience for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts in the heart of the Teutoburg Forest. This multi-faceted hike leads around 14 kilometers through the impressive landscape between Wüsten and Detmold. The starting point is Kronenplatz in Detmold, from where the journey begins at 8:40 am. A relaxed train journey on the RB72 from 9:01 am ensures a stress-free start to the day and takes participants to the starting point of the hike.
The hiking route offers a fascinating mix of heathland and forest landscapes, which exude a unique charm, especially in winter. The rather barren season lends the surroundings a picturesque tranquillity and allows nature to enchant in its very own way. The halls of old oak trees might echo on the horizon, where birds used to chirp in the past. And if you walk with your eyes open, you might spot one or two animals in their natural habitat.
The return journey is made by bus at 15:30 in Brautlacht, before a well-earned stop at the Hetland restaurant in Bad Salzuflen-Wüsten rounds off the day's experiences. In convivial company, freshly gathered impressions can be shared and new plans for future hikes can be forged.
The guided tour by local guide Margarete "Maggie" Lietz provides interesting insights and a real enrichment of the hiking experience. A poetic quote by Walther von der Vogelweide, reminiscent of the melancholy of winter, adds a cultural touch to the experience.
For anyone who wants to be inspired by nature and experience winter from a new perspective, "Hiking around deserts" is a perfect opportunity to unwind and consciously enjoy the tranquillity of nature.
