Description:
As a middle-aged woman, Lee Miller (Kate Winslet) fights tooth and nail to avoid being remembered merely as a former model and muse for avant-garde photographer Man Ray (Sean Duggan). She wants to be with the love of her life, art dealer Roland Penrose (Alexander Skarsgård), and moves with him to his home town of London while the Nazis are already invading one European country after another. Miller initially works as a fashion photographer for British Vogue, but soon tires of it. This job is also dictated by men and women are expected to do their duty. She wants to get out of this system - and go to the front as a war photographer of all things. With the help of her editor-in-chief Audrey Withers (Andrea Riseborough), she submits an application - but it is rejected because she is a woman. The Americans, however, welcome her with open arms. But going to war alone is not exactly without danger...
