SPITZiale Film Festival at the Espelkamp Elite Cinema

However, a revised festival concept has now paved the way for spitziale's return next year. After three successful events at the Alte Gießerei, spitziale 2025 is moving back to the Espelkamp Elite Kino - the venue where spitziale was held for the first time in 2015.

"There will be plenty of new short films to experience again next year. We are extending the program on both days of the event and also introducing a break on both evenings. This is something that many viewers have requested in recent years. And we will also be changing and improving many other little things to offer the audience an even better event."

However, the festival organizers are consciously retaining many of the features they have come to love. "The focus is still on the filmmakers and their works," assures Deputy Chairman Michael Janssen. "Experiencing completely different films and genres in just one evening is what attracts many people to attend the spitziale. And we have already started looking for a jury. The golden Spitz is to be presented to a deserving winner. An expert jury will ensure this in any case." And as spitziale 2025 represents a new beginning for the festival team in a way, new paths are also being taken with the moderation, as board member Florian Jürgens adds: "Next year, the Bielefeld cabaret artist Ingo Börchers will lead through the festival program. We experienced and got to know Ingo at the WWKULTURPREIS23 award ceremony in Bad Eilsen, where we ourselves were honored as award winners. We were immediately impressed by his clever yet humorous way of presenting, which is why we asked him to do it. And since Ingo has happily accepted, he will give the festival a special touch with his astute moderation".

The spitziale 2025 will take place on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26 from 19:00 in the Espelkamp Elite Kino. A day ticket costs 25 euros, the combined ticket for both days of the event costs 45 euros. Advance ticket sales start on November 18, 2024 at the bookstore Lienstädt & Schürmann. Anyone who still has tickets for the spitziale 2024 can exchange or return them there free of charge until December 13, 2024.
