Peatland use in transition: the development of the "Stinkebrink" bog in Bad Meinberg

Trip/excursion
During the guided tour of the otherwise closed area of the "Stinkebrink" bog, the historical use is explained as well as the current nature conservation care and development of the site. Until 2014, peat was extracted from the Stinkebrink as a remedy for the spa in order to offer peat baths in the spa clinic. Since then, the site has no longer been used for operational purposes. The resulting valuable biotopes are now being preserved by the district of Lippe.

Start: 11 am, at the end of the road "Auf der Heide", 32805 Horn-Bad Meinberg in front of the gate of the moor
