The ruling of the Federal Constitutional Court from 2020 has brought assisted suicide into sharp focus and sparked a broad societal discussion. It emphasizes every person's right to a self-determined death, including the freedom to seek assistance with suicide.
Prof. Fred Salomon, a medical ethicist and member of the management team of the Mobile Ethical Counseling in Lippe (MELIP), explains in his lecture the legal framework as well as the concept of Mobile Ethical Counseling. He also provides insights into regulations in other countries and the positions of various religions.
Using concrete examples, participants are invited to reflect on their own stance and engage in discussions about the challenges of this sensitive topic.
