Lost Dark Places - Ostwestfalen-Lippe

Aside from the established tourist magnets, the supposedly down-to-earth East Westphalia-Lippe region also has a few eerily beautiful skeletons in its closet. Those who set off here will discover forgotten and abandoned places that are just as diverse as the landscape between the Teutoburg Forest, Wiehen, Weser and Egge mountains: they tell of white women, cold-blooded murderers, innocent witches, megalomaniacs and echoing children's laughter. Some give you goosebumps, others wistfully hint at the past beauty that is inexorably fading away.
