In keeping with the theme, retailers are decorating their stores and attracting customers with special offers. For example, the well-known witches from Markt Apotheke are out and about, selling the popular raffle tickets for a good cause. This year, the proceeds will go to the Culture and Beautification Association to further support active city life. At Schröer Medical Supply, customers can do more than just purchase products from the Weserbergland Alpacas—they can also admire and pet these cuddly animals in person that evening. At Finkhäuser Fashion, the DRK clothing store, and Kunze Shoe Store, customers can look forward to special offers, and at Piano Nobile, they can browse through sparkling Christmas decorations and accessories. Wein Schmidt will also be serving delicious wine and small treats that evening. Another highlight will certainly be the grand opening of Gerland, the hearing aid specialist, on the lower part of Lange Straße. To celebrate the occasion, there will be a wheel of fortune and small surprises. In addition, everyone can get a free hearing test on-site.
In keeping with the theme, there will be a full evening of entertainment.
Look forward to a touch of starlight as the “Sternenzauber” parade passes by, illuminating the evening with its sparkle. The drum group from Wittekindshof will be heard from afar as they get the crowd fired up with their rhythmic beats. Things will also heat up with the fire shows by Lichterloh. The duo will perform twice, playfully juggling the flames. ETV Valdorf will put a smile on visitors’ faces with a dance performance. The choreography is sure to be a hit, and joining in spontaneously is no problem at all.
Things will take a spooky turn at Haus Poelmahn this evening. The Culture and Beautification Association will take guests on a short discovery tour through the house, where the focus this time isn’t on the house’s history, but on interesting facts about superstition. In front of the house, Generation GO will offer small interactive activities where visitors can participate and guess along. Visitors can also refuel with witch’s soup or a witch’s potion.
Hungry and thirsty visitors will be served bratwurst, fries, and drinks by the staff of Getränke Wichmann at Hans-Loeb Platz in front of St. Stephan’s Church. In the upper part of Lange Straße, TuS Westfalia Uffeln will be serving hot drinks such as punch and mulled wine, and right next door, you can enjoy delicious waffles at SC Vlothos.
In addition, a guided city tour fitting for the dark season will be offered that evening. “Of Witches, the Plague, and the Büxenwulf”—a captivating tour through downtown Vlotho. During the evening lantern walk, you’ll learn about Vlotho’s eventful past through eerily beautiful stories. Spooky figures and mysterious events will be highlighted in a very special way.
