A piano concert as part of the series "Concerts in the Castle"

The Friends of the Bad Salzuflen Music School invite you to a special piano evening in the historic ambiance of Stietencron Castle in Schötmar as part of their series "Concerts in the Castle." On Sunday, November 8, 2026, pianist Teppei Kuroda will be our guest and will present, among other works, two significant pieces from the romantic piano literature.

The program features the "Six Piano Pieces" op. 118 by Johannes Brahms. Composed in 1893, this work is among the late piano compositions of the composer and combines quiet, contemplative passages with powerful and passionate moments.

Additionally, one of the great variation works of piano romanticism will be performed: the "Symphonic Etudes" C-sharp minor op. 13 by Robert Schumann. In this piece, Schumann blends virtuosic demands with a wide variety of musical moods and forms of expression.

Teppei Kuroda is a prizewinner of numerous competitions in Japan and throughout Europe. During his studies in Detmold alone, he received ten international awards, including at the Brahms Piano Competition in Germany and the Orchestra'Sion Piano Competition in Turkey. He has already given numerous solo concerts in many countries such as Japan, Germany, Great Britain, Turkey, France, Italy, and others. He has also performed as a soloist with around ten orchestras. He was appointed as a juror for the Pietro Argento Competition in Italy, where he won first prize. In February 2025, he completed his concert examination at the Detmold University of Music with distinction, where he also holds a teaching position for piano.

The concert begins at 6 p.m. Admission is free for students and pupils; adults pay 12 euros.
