Emil und die Detektive

Synopsis: For Emil (Nicholas Jonah Peter), summer vacation begins with a train ride to Berlin, where he plans to visit his grandmother, Renate Tischbein (Ursula Werner). But while still on the train, his money is stolen by the con artist Max Grundeis (Merlin Sandmeyer). Instead of letting the thief get away, Emil immediately gives chase. In Berlin, he gets help from a group of young detectives, including Pony (Lara Toni Lüdders), Gustav (Kilian Kasa), Dienstag (Bela Louis Plass), Anh (Ai Vy Bui), and Jason (Camille Moltzen). Together, they do everything they can to track down Max Grundeis and return Emil’s stolen money to him. As their search takes them all over the capital, the children must demonstrate resourcefulness, courage, and team spirit to stay one step ahead of the cunning con artist. A remake of the classic by Erich Kästner. (Source: filmstarts.de)
