The Blomberg Song Festival is all about multi-faceted voices and virtuoso instrumental diversity. The acts all inspire the audience in their own way and could hardly be more different.

The Blomberg Song Festival was created when the ideas of songwriter and festival initiator Volkwin Müller and Andrea Plat, a culture enthusiast and committed Blomberg resident, came together.

A project idea turned into a concept, which was then implemented with a great deal of enthusiasm and commitment in cooperation with the town of Blomberg. Originally intended as a "test balloon" in 2007, the first Blomberg Song Festival under the motto "The Beatles in Lippe" was such a success that the organizers were urged by the enthusiastic audience in the sold-out Kulturhaus on the evening of the festival to establish the festival permanently in Blomberg. It continued in 2008 with "Bring on the Night" and in 2009 with "Ring of Fire".

After the truly overwhelming response to the first three festivals, the music event was extended to two days for the first time in 2010. This time, the motto was borrowed from a song and album title by main act Julian Dawson: "As real as Disneyland". The singer/songwriters presented their own songs for the first time. Since then, the concept of presenting their own songs has been successfully continued and internationally renowned musicians have also performed on Blomberg's stage! The festival will continue to take place over 2 days in November (Friday and Saturday). On both evenings there is a main act and 1-2 supporting acts (mostly solo songwriters or duos).
The festival takes place annually on the first weekend in November. We have hosted David Knopfler (ex-Dire Straits), Ray Wilson & Genesis Classics, Purple Schulz, Wolf Maahn, Anne Haigis, Ulla Meinecke, Stoppok, Luka Bloom and many others.
