After the mill ceased operation and passed into private hands, the Husenmühle underwent extensive renovation around 1980, which preserved its old, rustic charm. In the years following the restoration, it served as a popular meeting place for the "Nachtigallental" local history association and attracted numerous guests who enjoyed the historic atmosphere and beautiful surroundings.
Today, the Husenmühle is privately owned and no longer open to the public. The private character of the place has changed the former public life at the mill, but the memory of its important role in the history of the Nachtigallen Valley remains. The mill itself, surrounded by nature and history, remains a fascinating testimony to regional traditions and a silent guardian of times gone by.
