Tourist-Information Herford

Tourist information
Attention: - Limited accessibility at the moment, as the Rathausplatz is under construction.
The entrance to the Tourist Information Office is located at the back of the market hall, on Abteistraße, opposite the former Sparkasse bank.

At the moment we are only easily accessible by bike or on foot.
The best place to park your car for a short time is in the parking lot of the town hall or the district court.

We are the central point of contact for visitors and citizens with a comprehensive range of services:
  • Information on hotels and vacation apartments
  • Event tips
  • Sights
  • Leisure tips
  • Travel and group offers
  • Town tours
  • Brochures and leaflets
  • Herford souvenirs
  • Ticket sales

When you get to know Herford, you quickly realize that this town is somehow different. Nevertheless, everyone here would agree: We're actually quite normal. But what does normal mean to a Westphalian mind? Events that elsewhere are cause for a press conference are commented on benevolently here with a relaxed "that's fine".

And it is precisely this unagitated manner that ensures that the people of Herford often surprise themselves with their courageous decisions. And in all areas: With the spectacular Marta Herford museum building, the Hanseatic city has achieved international renown. With the Marta Herford, star architect Frank Gehry has once again created an imaginative building without right angles.

In addition to art and history, Herford offers plenty of space for relaxation: swimming, saunas and wellness at H2O Herford, cycling on the Werre Cycle Path and the Soleweg, extensive hiking tours on the Hansaweg and even climbing the Herford Bismarck Tower.

Love shopping? Then one of the oldest and longest pedestrian zones in the region invites you to stroll, shop and linger. Or visit our attractive outlet stores of world-famous textile brands such as Brax and Bugatti.
Come and see for yourself and be surprised!
