The occupied stork nests in the Weser villages are particularly attractive in the summer months. After the population in North Rhine-Westphalia was very low at the end of the 1980s, around 90 nests in the Minden-Lübbecke district alone are now successfully breeding again. Almost a third of the stork nests and stork pairs can be found in the "stork capital Petershagen".
