In keeping with the traditions of the so-called painters' town, the Municipal Gallery offers temporary exhibitions of art from various stylistic periods alongside the works of old Lippe painters. One focus here is on graphic art. The Städtische Galerie can look back on a long series of exhibitions, for example with works by Max Beckmann, Karl Hofer, Niki de Saint Phalle, Bernhard Heisig, Rudolf Jahns and others. The exhibitions take place in cooperation with important German museums and private collectors.
