Whereby the Lippebach stream lies at the lowest point in between, which had to be bridged or bypassed. However, before the city water could be tapped, it had to be clarified whether there was a sufficient gradient from the source.

A simple dipstick measurement determined that the spring was higher than the village of Schwalenberg.Some people still suspect today that the water runs uphill.
