In 1732, reformed immigrants from neighboring Lippe founded a congregation in Vlotho. In 1783, the church was built with the support of Prussian King Frederick II. The baroque central building has an octagonal floor plan and a semi-circular apse on the east side. The tower was added to the west in 1884.
