Riegerpark is located south of the Dalke River, between Friedhofstraße and Wiesenstraße. This green oasis is easily accessible via the Dalkepromenade, which is called Paul-Westerfrölke-Weg in this section. A bridge connects the path on the northern riverbank directly to the park.

Riegerpark was named after the Rieger nursery, which was formerly located there. After the park had been in poor condition for a long time, it underwent extensive renovation beginning in 1998. As part of the renovation, this section of the Dalke River was renaturalized, paths were renewed, and a “green classroom”—a seating area by the water—was created.

Today, Riegerpark is a valuable and popular green space in Gütersloh. It offers space for relaxation, experiencing nature, and taking short breaks by the water. As a stop on the Dalke Water Discovery Trail, the park also provides information about its own history as well as topics related to water. Poems, fairy tales, stories, and interesting facts about the sounds of water, currents, and waves round out the on-site experience.
