The focus is on the laying hens and their organic eggs. The hens are allowed to roam daily in spacious orchard meadows and can move freely among fruit trees and elderberry hedges.
Since 1992, the Meierhof has been operated in accordance with Bioland guidelines. The farm places particular emphasis on responsible animal husbandry: for every laying hen chick raised, a brother rooster is also raised in accordance with Bioland guidelines. The Meierhof was awarded the Gold Medal by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for its species-appropriate animal husbandry.
