The impressive half-timbered building of the Mallinckrodthof was built in the 17th century. It is surrounded by a moat with quarrystone walls. The poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff is said to have written part of "The Jew's Book" in the "Annettentempelchen" on the grounds of the Mallinckrodthof.
The main building now hosts numerous cultural events as well as courses and lectures by the adult education center. There is also a café-restaurant here. The rose garden of the former manor house is worth a visit.
Mallinckrodtpark is a historic park with old trees (lime tree avenue, orchards) and extensive green spaces, which invites walkers and those seeking relaxation to linger.
After a few decades of only sporadic management and maintenance of the gardens, the old tradition of horticulture at Mallinckrodthof was revived in 1997 with a comprehensive redesign of the former farm garden. A modern rose and cottage garden was created. Numerous varieties of roses and standard roses have been planted in the rose garden right next to the baroque cowshed. There is also a playground for children in the park on the 5-hectare site.
