House Schaefer

Monument
Typical and richly decorated example of a half-timbered building in the Weser Renaissance style.
The magnificent half-timbered building of the Schaefer family was built in 1571, incorporating a medieval stone house that has been preserved in the basement. The projecting upper storeys feature rich ornamental carvings in the Weser Renaissance style. However, these were only rediscovered in 1983 as part of a necessary renovation and the associated removal of external panelling.
