Herz-Jesu-Kirche Hövelriege

Church
The church is located in Riege, the largest district of Hövelhof.
Hövelriege is a district of Hövelhof. The parish was founded on the initiative of the Rodehuth family in 1919, who campaigned to build a church in the district.

The foundation stone for the originally small church was laid in June 1921.

In 1925, Hövelriege became an independent parish, but continued to belong to the mother parish of Hövelhof as a branch. The church was significantly enlarged in 1956/57: The striking tower and the rear transept date from these years.

Today, the parish has around 1,400 members.
