Historic town centre
Berliner Straße was the first paved street in Gütersloh in 1820 and is now the city's main shopping street. Even today, some of the facades of the buildings erected in the 19th century bear witness to the prosperity of the time. In 1972, Berliner Straße became Gütersloh's 1st pedestrian zone.
